Today I sent my son on a camping trip with his AWANA TnT group. He was so excited, to say the least! While Christian was ecstatic, Timothy on the other hand was willing the tears back as his voice trembled, "Bye, bye Bubba." He loves his brother so much! Although there is a tinge of sadness, I realize parenting is just a series of "letting go." I know I will miss him more than he is missing any of us, and he will return from the weekend full of good memories made with his Christian brothers and leaders.
Well there isn't time to sit around and pout about my children growing up too quickly. This is already proving to be a rather hectic weekend for this family. While Christian is away, Jeffrey has plans, Dad has plans, and of course Mom has plans! All going different directions. I really prefer lazy Saturdays to sleep in and afternoons sprinkled with a few errands of the fun sort (shopping, visiting friends and family, doing fun family activities) and then maybe dinner and a movie for the evenings! Well that just isn't going to happen this weekend! In everything give thanks - so Thank you Lord for all the opportunities we will have this weekend to spread your love, help us to be your hands and feet to someone!
